Dr. Mack Hines provides educators with racially relevant, research based approaches for teaching African American students. Participants acquire strategies for using oral and rhythmic expression, multi-level togetherness, vervistic focus, and experiential vitality to effectively teach African American students.
Dr. Mack Hines then provides participants with the foundation for using the instructional practices in their classrooms. Particularly, he models and teaches participants how to draw from African American cultural norms to strengthen lesson plans and approaches to maximizing the effectiveness of teaching African American students. Participants depart the session with approaches for ensuring that their instructional practices are inclusive of the racial, cultural, and identity-based experiences of African American students.
